With three restaurants under its name – Portico Prime, Portico Host and Portico Platos – the Dempsey Hill outlet stands out from its sister chains for its weekend brunches and fine dining cuisine.

We've seen several posts online introducing the weekend brunch menu, but few have mentioned about its dinner menu. Today I'm here to share more about it.

Burrata Cheese
Starter: Tomatoes and Burata Cheese Salad
Sliced Roma tomatoes, basil pesto, puffed quinoa


Foie Gras
Starter: Pan-Seared Foie Gras
Toasted bread, spiced mango chutney, mixed berries

Main: Chilled Truffle-Scented Angel Hair Pasta

My two cents:

Portico Prime is located at the forefront of Dempsey Hill and is impossible to miss it – especially when the only means of entering this secluded location is by wheels or one's two feet.

The 19th century colonial-inspired restaurant boasts an elegant minimalistic exterior and modern European-styled tall ceiling interior, it makes the perfect location for romantic dinner dates or a simplistic yet memorable wedding venue.

I had the honour of meeting the Executive Chef who was responsible for setting up the exquisite menu that I tried that night. He started my dinner course with two brilliant appetisers, the light-on-the-palate Burrata Cheese Platter and sinfully good Pan-Seared Foie Gras. I'm unfortunately an individual who prefers to sin, hence the foie gras was more of my sorta thing.

As for the entrĂ©e, between the three mains Chilled Truffle-Scented Angel Hair Pasta, Poached Norwegian Salmon and Grilled Grass-Fed Tenderloin Steak, my preference leaned towards the Chilled Hair Pasta – the truffle scent combined with the refreshing aftertaste was too much to resist.

Lastly we have dessert, the Deconstructed Blackforest which is one of those rare deconstructed combinations that actually works and makes sense! I having spoonfuls of the dessert, either having it altogether or by each individual element, and they taste good all ways! With this successful cleanse to the heavy meal, it ended my dinner course on a light note.

I highly urge you to try out the dishes that I have had. If you don't see it on the menu, fret not. All you gotta do is to show the picture of the dish (from my blog) that you want to the waiting staff and they will notify the kitchen to make this special request just for you.
